Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GTX 560 Ti vs Radeon HD 6950
IntroThe GeForce GTX 560 Ti has a GPU clock speed of 822 MHz, and the 1024 MB of GDDR5 RAM is set to run at 1002 MHz through a 256-bit bus. It also is comprised of 384 SPUs, 64 TAUs, and 32 Raster Operation Units.Compare those specifications to the Radeon HD 6950, which has a core clock frequency of 800 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 1250 MHz. It also makes use of a 256-bit memory bus, and makes use of a 40 nm design. It is comprised of 1408 SPUs, 88 TAUs, and 32 ROPs.

BenchmarksThese are real-world performance benchmarks that were submitted by Hardware Compare users. The scores seen here are the average of all benchmarks submitted for each respective test and hardware.
3DMark Fire Strike Graphics Score
Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthTheoretically speaking, the Radeon HD 6950 should be a lot faster than the GeForce GTX 560 Ti in general. (explain)
Texel RateThe Radeon HD 6950 will be much (approximately 34%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the GeForce GTX 560 Ti. (explain)
Pixel RateIf using lots of anti-aliasing is important to you, then the GeForce GTX 560 Ti is a better choice, though only just barely. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Display Specifications
Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of information (counted in MB per second) that can be transferred over the external memory interface in a second. It is calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory clock speed. If the card has DDR type RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card can possibly write to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel rate also depends on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the max fill rate.

You can check out this review (didn't say trust lol): http://www.hwcompare.com/8889/geforc...adeon-hd-6950/ I think both cards are neck in neck in many ways. For prospective buyers considering Crossfire/SLI, make sure you also check comparisons in dual/multi card setups. Single card/ OC numbers tend to favor Nvidia a bit, whereas AMD tends to have the advantage when Crossfired.

how many has nvidia payed u ?
@krissi
lol..
Neither nvidia nor Ati pays them..
If u look at each card's specifications then its clear tht HD 6950 is Faster than 560 Ti..
But while dealing with fps..
The specification doesn't matter alot..
What matters is the real life performance and its clear tht 560 ti is an Excellent choice cz it consumes less power and cn run any game at 1080p W/O Sli...
Although New games look alot better on 6950 but it depends upon what u prefer,,
Quality or Performance..:-P
Same as always, nvidia more FPS for $$$, but ATi cheaper filtering performance, it's a toss up: performance vs. picture quality
The biggest question:
Which one can I get cheaper?

Well i have nothing to complain about. I own a MSI 870A Fuzion Power Edition Motherboard. It plays Both AMD and Nviida Cards simultaneously. So i have nothing to complain about. But i do want to pick between which is better for my system.I just bought a HD 6870 an was trying to find a balanced card an apparently this is the closest one.So i could use some advice on this card.

I have noticed that both Nvidia and AMD are heading over the 1GB of VRAM side of the ball park which actually makes very little difference in 99.99% or games, and even in games that is does its minuscule and only really noticeable at ultra-high resolutions.
I'd still get the 6950 since it can be unlocked to a 6970 and it'll be 20% faster than the 560Ti.
Damn I have the (asus) nvidia gtx 560ti but I like ati 6950 I buy the nvidia qzz there wasn't the hd 6950 in the stor......
Physical size of the cards might be something to consider as well. GTX 560 Ti has a shorter length than the Radeon 6950 1GB. Check your computer case for room!
Availability is always an issue. I can find many kinds of GTX 560 Ti but it seems the Radeon 6950 1GB has been discontinued.
Regardless, both cards are very good. They're "only" 1GB, but almost every monitor/TV made after 2010 is capped at 1920x1080. Older displays capable of 1920x1200 will also be fine. It's only when 2560x1440 or multi-monitor set-ups come into play that memory may be a problem. Unless 256-bit bus-width starts appearing in future mid-end range cards, these are the most powerful 1GB graphics cards available. The 1GB GT 6xx and the Radeon HD 7xxx cards are weak.
Also, Guru3D has a nice comparison of the two:
http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-6950-1gb-vs-geforce-gtx-560-ti-review/
This is the most misleading comparison of HD6950 - it is faster in the majority of games, this is BS, pure nvidia BIAS... LAME
560Ti social edition 6950 much better
