Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GTX 460 vs Radeon HD 6770
IntroThe GeForce GTX 460 features clock speeds of 675 MHz on the GPU, and 900 MHz on the 768 MB of GDDR5 RAM. It features 336 SPUs along with 56 Texture Address Units and 24 Rasterization Operator Units.Compare those specifications to the Radeon HD 6770, which has a clock frequency of 900 MHz and a GDDR5 memory frequency of 1050 MHz. It also features a 128-bit memory bus, and makes use of a 40 nm design. It features 800 SPUs, 40 TAUs, and 16 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthTheoretically speaking, the GeForce GTX 460 should be a lot faster than the Radeon HD 6770 in general. (explain)
Texel RateThe GeForce GTX 460 is just a bit (about 5%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the Radeon HD 6770. (explain)
Pixel RateIf running with high levels of AA is important to you, then the GeForce GTX 460 is a better choice, but only just. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (counted in MB per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface within a second. It is calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR type RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This number is worked out by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the video card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in one second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels the graphics card can possibly record to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the number of colour ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the max fill rate.
