Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GTX 460 vs Radeon HD 6770
IntroThe GeForce GTX 460 has a GPU clock speed of 675 MHz, and the 768 MB of GDDR5 memory is set to run at 900 MHz through a 192-bit bus. It also is comprised of 336 Stream Processors, 56 Texture Address Units, and 24 Raster Operation Units.Compare those specs to the Radeon HD 6770, which comes with core speeds of 900 MHz on the GPU, and 1050 MHz on the 512 MB of GDDR5 memory. It features 800 SPUs as well as 40 Texture Address Units and 16 ROPs.

BenchmarksThese are real-world performance benchmarks that were submitted by Hardware Compare users. The scores seen here are the average of all benchmarks submitted for each respective test and hardware.
3DMark Fire Strike Graphics Score
Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthThe GeForce GTX 460 should in theory perform a lot faster than the Radeon HD 6770 overall. (explain)
Texel RateThe GeForce GTX 460 is just a bit (about 5%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the Radeon HD 6770. (explain)
Pixel RateIf using lots of anti-aliasing is important to you, then the GeForce GTX 460 is the winner, though not by far. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (counted in MB per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in one second. It's worked out by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory clock speed. If it uses DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied in one second. This number is worked out by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied per second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card can possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is calculated by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the maximum fill rate.
