GeForce RTX 4070 Ti vs Radeon RX 6650 XT

Intro

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti has clock speeds of 2310 MHz on the GPU, and 1313 MHz on the 12288 MB of GDDR6X RAM. It features 7680 SPUs along with 240 Texture Address Units and 80 Rasterization Operator Units.

Compare all of that to the Radeon RX 6650 XT, which has a clock frequency of 2055 MHz and a GDDR6 memory frequency of 2190 MHz. It also features a 128-bit memory bus, and uses a 7 nm design. It is made up of 2048 SPUs, 128 Texture Address Units, and 64 Raster Operation Units.

Radeon RX 6650 XT 176 Watts
GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 285 Watts
Difference: 109 Watts (62%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti should be a lot faster than the Radeon RX 6650 XT overall. (explain)

GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 516096 MB/sec
Radeon RX 6650 XT 287072 MB/sec
Difference: 229024 (80%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti should be quite a bit (more or less 111%) more effective at texture filtering than the Radeon RX 6650 XT. (explain)

GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 554400 Mtexels/sec
Radeon RX 6650 XT 263040 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 291360 (111%)

Pixel Rate

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti should be a lot (more or less 41%) more effective at FSAA than the Radeon RX 6650 XT, and also will be capable of handling higher resolutions better. (explain)

GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 184800 Mpixels/sec
Radeon RX 6650 XT 131520 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 53280 (41%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (counted in MB per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface within a second. The number is worked out by multiplying the card's interface width by the speed of its memory. In the case of DDR type RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels the video card could possibly record to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the amount of ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.
