GeForce GTS 150 141 Watts
Difference: 25 Watts (22%)

Memory Bandwidth

In theory, the GeForce GTX 550 Ti should be quite a bit faster than the GeForce GTS 150 overall. (explain)

GeForce GTX 550 Ti 98496 MB/sec
GeForce GTS 150 32000 MB/sec
Difference: 66496 (208%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce GTS 150 is quite a bit (approximately 64%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the GeForce GTX 550 Ti. (explain)

GeForce GTS 150 47360 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 550 Ti 28800 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 18560 (64%)

Pixel Rate

The GeForce GTX 550 Ti is much (approximately 82%) more effective at anti-aliasing than the GeForce GTS 150, and will be able to handle higher screen resolutions without slowing down too much. (explain)

GeForce GTX 550 Ti 21600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GTS 150 11840 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 9760 (82%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of data (in units of MB per second) that can be moved across the external memory interface in one second. It's worked out by multiplying the card's interface width by the speed of its memory. If it uses DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be processed in one second. This number is worked out by multiplying the total amount of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels the video card could possibly write to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is calculated by multiplying the number of colour ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel output rate also depends on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the max fill rate.
