Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of data (counted in MB per second) that can be moved over the external memory interface in one second. The number is calculated by multiplying the bus width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be processed per second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics card can possibly record to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the number of ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the maximum fill rate.

scott says:

this is weird, they both cost relatively the same but the GTX 770 Beats it. I Think the 770 is a better choice over a 680. but the GTX 680 SOC can probably beat the 770 if they are both left stock.

eddie says:

But the Palit GeForce GTX 770 JetStream can beat the GTX 680 SOC, both stock. With 3 fans it can probably gain a better total increase in bandwidth from a already head start.

javi says:

7xx cards upgrade worth only if it is from a 4xx series i already own two 670 and theres no much difference in performance.

Andreu says:

680 is directX 11.1 compilat and 770 it's DirectX 11.0?, It seems that something is wrong with that info.

Jow says:

I upgraded from a 680 to a 780 and the performance increase was MUCH greater than I had expected. Theoretical bench marks and numbers are just that - theory. Real world performance depends on so many variables that relying on some theory based on numbers and graphs isn't really a good idea. Of course, anecdotal evidence is of even less value, but that depends on the amount of people that experience these upgrades and performance values in the real world.

Cam says:

The price of the 680 is so much higher than the 770 now. Thanks BitCoin. It must be the lower power consumption that draws the BitCoin crazies to it driving the price up?

Roger says:

If I understand the specifications correctly, the GTX 770 is basically an overclocked renamed GTX 680. They both have a GK104 core and the quantity specs are identical. However the clock specs are greater for a GTX 770. I guess that in order to support the greater clock speeds, some of the other hardware in a GTX 770 differs from a GTX 680.

Pav says:

Actually Cam, most nVidia cards are TERRIBLE for bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin mining. So the pricing for nVidia cards are not a result of any crypto-currency.

Weker says:

Actually due to the increase in price for radeon cards due to mining. Nvidia can in turn increase their prices in relation to radeon cards since they are the only other competition. With the the new line-up of nvidia cards, such as the 750ti, i can only see a cards climbing in price until the whole crytocurrency thing starts to die out, it may be soon considering current events.

i dont understand, i have a palit GTX 680 jetstream and a EVGA 770, the jetstream beats the evga.
