Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GTX 660 Ti vs Radeon HD 7850
IntroThe GeForce GTX 660 Ti has core speeds of 915 MHz on the GPU, and 1500 MHz on the 2048 MB of GDDR5 memory. It features 1344 SPUs along with 112 Texture Address Units and 24 Rasterization Operator Units.Compare that to the Radeon HD 7850, which has core speeds of 860 MHz on the GPU, and 1200 MHz on the 2048 MB of GDDR5 RAM. It features 1024 SPUs as well as 64 TAUs and 32 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthTheoretically speaking, the Radeon HD 7850 is 7% quicker than the GeForce GTX 660 Ti in general, due to its higher data rate. (explain)
Texel RateThe GeForce GTX 660 Ti should be quite a bit (about 86%) faster with regards to AF than the Radeon HD 7850. (explain)
Pixel RateIf using a high screen resolution is important to you, then the Radeon HD 7850 is the winner, by a large margin. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transported over the external memory interface in one second. The number is worked out by multiplying the bus width by the speed of its memory. If the card has DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be processed per second. This number is worked out by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in a second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics chip could possibly record to its local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the maximum fill rate.

6 Responses to “GeForce GTX 660 Ti vs Radeon HD 7850”[...] Hey just wondering about the 660 Ti and whether or not it has been released it appears that it has but not exactly sure and in terms of price etc is it worth it instead of the 7850. I've had to post pone my build until after Christmas Uni has made me a bit poorer than I anticipated so by then hopefully the 7850 may have dropped in price as a counter towards the 660 Ti. I've also been using this website as a comparison for graphics cards would you say it's fairly accurate: GeForce GTX 660 Ti vs Radeon HD 7850 – Performance Comparison Benchmarks @ Hardware Compare [...]
the 7850 is better for me.. ....thus the memory bandwidth is 256bit..ive seen the 660ti and its not worth the money the 7850 can run as fast as the 660ti but and also worth every penny ...
a7850 e supeiror seu urro alha de novo o principal o o ultimo i ela ta na frente
