Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 160 Watts
GeForce RTX 2070 175 Watts
Difference: 15 Watts (9%)

Memory Bandwidth

Performance-wise, the GeForce RTX 2070 should theoretically be much better than the Radeon RX 6600 XT in general. (explain)

GeForce RTX 2070 458752 MB/sec
Radeon RX 6600 XT 262144 MB/sec
Difference: 196608 (75%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 XT will be a lot (approximately 24%) more effective at AF than the GeForce RTX 2070. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 251904 Mtexels/sec
GeForce RTX 2070 203040 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 48864 (24%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 XT will be quite a bit (about 40%) faster with regards to full screen anti-aliasing than the GeForce RTX 2070, and able to handle higher resolutions without losing too much performance. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 125952 Mpixels/sec
GeForce RTX 2070 90240 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 35712 (40%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of data (in units of megabytes per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface within a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the bus width by the speed of its memory. If the card has DDR memory, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the video card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels the video card can possibly record to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the amount of Render Output Units by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the maximum fill rate.
