Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB 31 Watts
GeForce GT 340 69 Watts
Difference: 38 Watts (123%)

Memory Bandwidth

The GeForce GT 340, in theory, should be much faster than the Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB in general. (explain)

GeForce GT 340 54400 MB/sec
Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB 28800 MB/sec
Difference: 25600 (89%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce GT 340 is quite a bit (about 193%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB. (explain)

GeForce GT 340 17600 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB 6000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 11600 (193%)

Pixel Rate

If using high levels of AA is important to you, then the GeForce GT 340 is superior to the Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB, by far. (explain)

GeForce GT 340 4400 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB 3000 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 1400 (47%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of information (counted in megabytes per second) that can be moved over the external memory interface in one second. It is calculated by multiplying the card's interface width by the speed of its memory. If the card has DDR RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the card's memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the graphics card could possibly write to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the number of colour ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel fill rate also depends on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the max fill rate.
