Radeon HD 6750 vs Radeon RX 6600

Intro

The Radeon HD 6750 features a clock speed of 725 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 1000 MHz. It also makes use of a 128-bit bus, and uses a 40 nm design. It features 720 SPUs, 36 TAUs, and 16 ROPs.

Compare that to the Radeon RX 6600, which makes use of a 7 nm design. AMD has set the core frequency at 1626 MHz. The GDDR6 memory is set to run at a frequency of 1750 MHz on this model. It features 1792 SPUs as well as 112 TAUs and 64 Rasterization Operator Units.

Radeon HD 6750 86 Watts
Radeon RX 6600 132 Watts
Difference: 46 Watts (53%)

Memory Bandwidth

As far as performance goes, the Radeon RX 6600 should in theory be a lot superior to the Radeon HD 6750 in general. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 229376 MB/sec
Radeon HD 6750 64000 MB/sec
Difference: 165376 (258%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 is quite a bit (approximately 598%) better at texture filtering than the Radeon HD 6750. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 182112 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 26100 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 156012 (598%)

Pixel Rate

If running with a high resolution is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6600 is the winner, by a large margin. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 104064 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 11600 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 92464 (797%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of information (in units of megabytes per second) that can be transported past the external memory interface in a second. It's worked out by multiplying the bus width by its memory speed. In the case of DDR type memory, it must be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be processed per second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels that the graphics chip could possibly write to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the number of colour ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel output rate also depends on many other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the maximum fill rate.
