Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically speaking, the Radeon R7 370 2G should be 87% faster than the Radeon R9 M380 overall, because of its greater data rate. (explain)

Radeon R7 370 2G 179200 MB/sec
Radeon R9 M380 96000 MB/sec
Difference: 83200 (87%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon R7 370 2G is much (approximately 56%) faster with regards to AF than the Radeon R9 M380. (explain)

Radeon R7 370 2G 62400 Mtexels/sec
Radeon R9 M380 40000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 22400 (56%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon R7 370 2G should be a lot (about 95%) faster with regards to FSAA than the Radeon R9 M380, and also able to handle higher screen resolutions better. (explain)

Radeon R7 370 2G 31200 Mpixels/sec
Radeon R9 M380 16000 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 15200 (95%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of information (measured in MB per second) that can be moved across the external memory interface within a second. It's calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by the speed of its memory. If the card has DDR type memory, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics card could possibly record to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on many other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the max fill rate.
