GeForce GTX 1630 vs Radeon RX 6750 XT

Intro

The GeForce GTX 1630 has core clock speeds of 1740 MHz on the GPU, and 1500 MHz on the 4096 MB of GDDR6 RAM. It features 512 SPUs along with 32 TAUs and 16 ROPs.

Compare that to the Radeon RX 6750 XT, which uses a 7 nm design. AMD has clocked the core speed at 2150 MHz. The GDDR6 RAM works at a frequency of 2250 MHz on this card. It features 2560 SPUs as well as 160 Texture Address Units and 64 Rasterization Operator Units.

Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

GeForce GTX 1630 75 Watts
Radeon RX 6750 XT 250 Watts
Difference: 175 Watts (233%)

Memory Bandwidth

In theory, the Radeon RX 6750 XT should be 350% quicker than the GeForce GTX 1630 overall, due to its higher data rate. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 442368 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 1630 98304 MB/sec
Difference: 344064 (350%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6750 XT will be quite a bit (about 518%) more effective at texture filtering than the GeForce GTX 1630. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 344000 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 1630 55680 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 288320 (518%)

Pixel Rate

If running with lots of anti-aliasing is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6750 XT is a better choice, and very much so. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 137600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GTX 1630 27840 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 109760 (394%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (measured in MB per second) that can be transported past the external memory interface within a second. It is calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR memory, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are processed in one second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total amount of texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the maximum fill rate.
