Radeon RX 570 vs Radeon RX 6750 XT

Intro

The Radeon RX 570 uses a 14 nm design. AMD has set the core speed at 1168 MHz. The GDDR5 RAM runs at a frequency of 1750 MHz on this particular card. It features 2048 SPUs along with 128 Texture Address Units and 32 ROPs.

Compare all that to the Radeon RX 6750 XT, which features a core clock speed of 2150 MHz and a GDDR6 memory frequency of 2250 MHz. It also features a 192-bit memory bus, and uses a 7 nm design. It is comprised of 2560 SPUs, 160 TAUs, and 64 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

Radeon RX 570 150 Watts
Radeon RX 6750 XT 250 Watts
Difference: 100 Watts (67%)

Memory Bandwidth

The Radeon RX 6750 XT should theoretically perform quite a bit faster than the Radeon RX 570 overall. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 442368 MB/sec
Radeon RX 570 229376 MB/sec
Difference: 212992 (93%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6750 XT should be much (about 130%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon RX 570. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 344000 Mtexels/sec
Radeon RX 570 149504 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 194496 (130%)

Pixel Rate

If using a high screen resolution is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6750 XT is superior to the Radeon RX 570, and very much so. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 137600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon RX 570 37376 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 100224 (268%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of information (counted in megabytes per second) that can be moved over the external memory interface in one second. It is worked out by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied in one second. This number is worked out by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels the video card can possibly write to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel fill rate also depends on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.
