GeForce GT 1030 vs Radeon RX 6600 XT

Intro

The GeForce GT 1030 comes with a GPU clock speed of 1265 MHz, and the 2048 MB of GDDR5 RAM runs at 1502 MHz through a 64-bit bus. It also is made up of 384 Stream Processors, 32 TAUs, and 16 Raster Operation Units.

Compare those specs to the Radeon RX 6600 XT, which has a GPU core clock speed of 1968 MHz, and 8192 MB of GDDR6 RAM set to run at 2000 MHz through a 128-bit bus. It also is made up of 2048 SPUs, 128 TAUs, and 64 ROPs.

GeForce GT 1030 30 Watts
Radeon RX 6600 XT 160 Watts
Difference: 130 Watts (433%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically, the Radeon RX 6600 XT should be quite a bit faster than the GeForce GT 1030 in general. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 262144 MB/sec
GeForce GT 1030 49152 MB/sec
Difference: 212992 (433%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is much (approximately 522%) better at AF than the GeForce GT 1030. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 251904 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GT 1030 40480 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 211424 (522%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 XT should be much (more or less 522%) faster with regards to AA than the GeForce GT 1030, and also able to handle higher screen resolutions without losing too much performance. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 125952 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GT 1030 20240 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 105712 (522%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of information (counted in MB per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface within a second. It's calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics chip can possibly write to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the number of colour ROPs by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel fill rate also depends on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.
