GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3 vs Radeon RX 6900 XT

Intro

The GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3 has a GPU core clock speed of 550 MHz, and the 1024 MB of GDDR3 RAM runs at 800 MHz through a 128-bit bus. It also is made up of 32 SPUs, 16 TAUs, and 8 ROPs.

Compare all that to the Radeon RX 6900 XT, which comes with GPU clock speed of 1825 MHz, and 16384 MB of GDDR6 RAM running at 2000 MHz through a 256-bit bus. It also features 5120 Stream Processors, 320 TAUs, and 128 ROPs.

GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3 50 Watts
Radeon RX 6900 XT 300 Watts
Difference: 250 Watts (500%)

Memory Bandwidth

In theory, the Radeon RX 6900 XT should perform much faster than the GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3 overall. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 524288 MB/sec
GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3 25600 MB/sec
Difference: 498688 (1948%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6900 XT should be a lot (more or less 6536%) more effective at AF than the GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 584000 Mtexels/sec
GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3 8800 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 575200 (6536%)

Pixel Rate

If using a high resolution is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6900 XT is superior to the GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3, by a large margin. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 233600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GDDR3 4400 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 229200 (5209%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the largest amount of information (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transferred over the external memory interface in one second. The number is worked out by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. In the case of DDR memory, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are processed in one second. This is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels the video card could possibly record to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the max fill rate.
