GeForce GTX 880M vs Radeon RX 6900 XT

Intro

The GeForce GTX 880M has a GPU core speed of 954 MHz, and the 4096 MB of GDDR5 memory is set to run at 1000 MHz through a 256-bit bus. It also is made up of 1536 SPUs, 128 Texture Address Units, and 32 ROPs.

Compare all that to the Radeon RX 6900 XT, which features GPU core speed of 1825 MHz, and 16384 MB of GDDR6 memory set to run at 2000 MHz through a 256-bit bus. It also is comprised of 5120 Stream Processors, 320 TAUs, and 128 ROPs.

GeForce GTX 880M 130 Watts
Radeon RX 6900 XT 300 Watts
Difference: 170 Watts (131%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically speaking, the Radeon RX 6900 XT should be 310% quicker than the GeForce GTX 880M overall, because of its higher data rate. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 524288 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 880M 128000 MB/sec
Difference: 396288 (310%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6900 XT is much (more or less 378%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the GeForce GTX 880M. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 584000 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 880M 122112 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 461888 (378%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 6900 XT is much (approximately 665%) better at anti-aliasing than the GeForce GTX 880M, and should be capable of handling higher resolutions without slowing down too much. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 233600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GTX 880M 30528 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 203072 (665%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of data (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transferred across the external memory interface in one second. It's calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR memory, it must be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This is worked out by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel fill rate also depends on quite a few other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the maximum fill rate.
