Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Memory Bandwidth

The Radeon HD 7950 3GB should theoretically be a lot faster than the Radeon R7 M360 overall. (explain)

Radeon HD 7950 3GB 240000 MB/sec
Radeon R7 M360 16000 MB/sec
Difference: 224000 (1400%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon HD 7950 3GB is much (approximately 232%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the Radeon R7 M360. (explain)

Radeon HD 7950 3GB 89600 Mtexels/sec
Radeon R7 M360 27000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 62600 (232%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon HD 7950 3GB is quite a bit (approximately 184%) more effective at anti-aliasing than the Radeon R7 M360, and also able to handle higher screen resolutions without losing too much performance. (explain)

Radeon HD 7950 3GB 25600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon R7 M360 9000 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 16600 (184%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of data (measured in megabytes per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface in a second. It's calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by the speed of its memory. If the card has DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are applied per second. This is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the graphics card can possibly record to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the max fill rate.
