Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

GeForce 820M 15 Watts
Radeon HD 6750 86 Watts
Difference: 71 Watts (473%)

Memory Bandwidth

Performance-wise, the Radeon HD 6750 should theoretically be a lot better than the GeForce 820M overall. (explain)

Radeon HD 6750 64000 MB/sec
GeForce 820M 16000 MB/sec
Difference: 48000 (300%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon HD 6750 is a lot (about 127%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the GeForce 820M. (explain)

Radeon HD 6750 26100 Mtexels/sec
GeForce 820M 11504 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 14596 (127%)

Pixel Rate

If running with high levels of AA is important to you, then the Radeon HD 6750 is a better choice, by far. (explain)

Radeon HD 6750 11600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce 820M 2876 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 8724 (303%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (in units of megabytes per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in one second. The number is calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory clock speed. If it uses DDR memory, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that are processed in one second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics card can possibly write to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the maximum fill rate.
