Radeon HD 3850 256MB 52992 MB/sec
Radeon R5 M230 16000 MB/sec
Difference: 36992 (231%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon R5 M230 will be a lot (about 46%) faster with regards to AF than the Radeon HD 3850 256MB. (explain)

Radeon R5 M230 15600 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 3850 256MB 10688 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 4912 (46%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon HD 3850 256MB is much (approximately 243%) faster with regards to AA than the Radeon R5 M230, and also will be capable of handling higher resolutions while still performing well. (explain)

Radeon HD 3850 256MB 10688 Mpixels/sec
Radeon R5 M230 3120 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 7568 (243%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the largest amount of data (measured in MB per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface in a second. The number is worked out by multiplying the interface width by its memory clock speed. If it uses DDR RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that are applied per second. This number is worked out by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels the graphics card can possibly write to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the number of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on many other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.
