Radeon HD 6750 1GB 86 Watts
Radeon R9 390 8G 275 Watts
Difference: 189 Watts (220%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically, the Radeon R9 390 8G should be much faster than the Radeon HD 6750 1GB in general. (explain)

Radeon R9 390 8G 384000 MB/sec
Radeon HD 6750 1GB 64000 MB/sec
Difference: 320000 (500%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon R9 390 8G is quite a bit (approximately 513%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon HD 6750 1GB. (explain)

Radeon R9 390 8G 160000 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 1GB 26100 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 133900 (513%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon R9 390 8G will be quite a bit (more or less 452%) better at full screen anti-aliasing than the Radeon HD 6750 1GB, and should be able to handle higher screen resolutions better. (explain)

Radeon R9 390 8G 64000 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 1GB 11600 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 52400 (452%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transported over the external memory interface in a second. It is calculated by multiplying the card's interface width by the speed of its memory. If it uses DDR RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly record to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the maximum fill rate.
