Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 vs Radeon HD 6670 (OEM)
IntroThe GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 makes use of a 40 nm design. nVidia has set the core frequency at 550 MHz. The GDDR5 RAM works at a speed of 850 MHz on this particular card. It features 96 SPUs along with 32 Texture Address Units and 8 Rasterization Operator Units.Compare all of that to the Radeon HD 6670 (OEM), which features a core clock frequency of 800 MHz and a GDDR5 memory frequency of 1000 MHz. It also features a 128-bit memory bus, and makes use of a 40 nm design. It is made up of 480 SPUs, 24 Texture Address Units, and 8 Raster Operation Units.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthAs far as performance goes, the Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) should theoretically be a little bit superior to the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 overall. (explain)
Texel RateThe Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) will be just a bit (about 9%) better at anisotropic filtering than the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5. (explain)
Pixel RateThe Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) is quite a bit (more or less 45%) better at anti-aliasing than the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5, and also will be capable of handling higher screen resolutions without losing too much performance. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (counted in MB per second) that can be moved across the external memory interface in a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by the speed of its memory. If the card has DDR type RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics chip can possibly write to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is calculated by multiplying the number of ROPs by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel rate is also dependant on many other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the maximum fill rate.
