Radeon HD 6770 1GB 67200 MB/sec
Radeon HD 4550 512MB 12800 MB/sec
Difference: 54400 (425%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon HD 6770 1GB will be a lot (about 650%) more effective at texture filtering than the Radeon HD 4550 512MB. (explain)

Radeon HD 6770 1GB 36000 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 4550 512MB 4800 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 31200 (650%)

Pixel Rate

If running with high levels of AA is important to you, then the Radeon HD 6770 1GB is the winner, by far. (explain)

Radeon HD 6770 1GB 14400 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 4550 512MB 2400 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 12000 (500%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of information (measured in megabytes per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface within a second. It's worked out by multiplying the bus width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR type RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels the graphics card could possibly record to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the maximum fill rate.
