GeForce 8600 GS (OEM) 12800 MB/sec
Difference: 51200 (400%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon HD 6750 1GB should be a lot (approximately 202%) more effective at texture filtering than the GeForce 8600 GS (OEM). (explain)

Radeon HD 6750 1GB 26100 Mtexels/sec
GeForce 8600 GS (OEM) 8640 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 17460 (202%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon HD 6750 1GB should be a lot (about 169%) more effective at FSAA than the GeForce 8600 GS (OEM), and also will be able to handle higher screen resolutions better. (explain)

Radeon HD 6750 1GB 11600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce 8600 GS (OEM) 4320 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 7280 (169%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of information (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transferred over the external memory interface in one second. The number is worked out by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. In the case of DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels that the graphics card can possibly record to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the number of ROPs by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the maximum fill rate.
