GeForce GTX 570 vs Radeon RX 6750 XT

Intro

The GeForce GTX 570 makes use of a 40 nm design. nVidia has set the core speed at 732 MHz. The GDDR5 memory runs at a frequency of 950 MHz on this particular card. It features 480 SPUs along with 60 TAUs and 40 ROPs.

Compare those specifications to the Radeon RX 6750 XT, which features clock speeds of 2150 MHz on the GPU, and 2250 MHz on the 12288 MB of GDDR6 RAM. It features 2560 SPUs as well as 160 Texture Address Units and 64 ROPs.

GeForce GTX 570 219 Watts
Radeon RX 6750 XT 250 Watts
Difference: 31 Watts (14%)

Memory Bandwidth

Performance-wise, the Radeon RX 6750 XT should theoretically be much better than the GeForce GTX 570 in general. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 442368 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 570 152000 MB/sec
Difference: 290368 (191%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6750 XT should be a lot (about 683%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the GeForce GTX 570. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 344000 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 570 43920 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 300080 (683%)

Pixel Rate

If running with high levels of AA is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6750 XT is the winner, by a large margin. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 137600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GTX 570 29280 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 108320 (370%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (measured in MB per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR type RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the number of colour ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the max fill rate.
