Radeon HD 6750 vs Radeon RX 6600

Intro

The Radeon HD 6750 comes with a GPU core speed of 725 MHz, and the 512 MB of GDDR5 memory runs at 1000 MHz through a 128-bit bus. It also is made up of 720 SPUs, 36 Texture Address Units, and 16 Raster Operation Units.

Compare that to the Radeon RX 6600, which has core speeds of 1626 MHz on the GPU, and 1750 MHz on the 8192 MB of GDDR6 memory. It features 1792 SPUs as well as 112 Texture Address Units and 64 ROPs.

Radeon RX 6600 132 Watts
Difference: 46 Watts (53%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically speaking, the Radeon RX 6600 is 258% faster than the Radeon HD 6750 overall, because of its greater data rate. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 229376 MB/sec
Radeon HD 6750 64000 MB/sec
Difference: 165376 (258%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 is a lot (about 598%) better at AF than the Radeon HD 6750. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 182112 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 26100 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 156012 (598%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 should be a lot (more or less 797%) faster with regards to full screen anti-aliasing than the Radeon HD 6750, and also will be capable of handling higher screen resolutions better. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 104064 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 11600 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 92464 (797%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (counted in MB per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface in one second. It's calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. In the case of DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are applied per second. This is worked out by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics card can possibly write to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the number of Raster Operations Pipelines by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the max fill rate.
