The Radeon HD 6790, in theory, should be a lot faster than the GeForce GTX 1050 3GB in general. (explain)

Radeon HD 6790 134400 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 1050 3GB 86016 MB/sec
Difference: 48384 (56%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce GTX 1050 3GB will be quite a bit (more or less 99%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the Radeon HD 6790. (explain)

GeForce GTX 1050 3GB 66816 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6790 33600 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 33216 (99%)

Pixel Rate

The GeForce GTX 1050 3GB should be much (approximately 149%) faster with regards to AA than the Radeon HD 6790, and also should be able to handle higher resolutions better. (explain)

GeForce GTX 1050 3GB 33408 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6790 13440 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 19968 (149%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of information (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transferred across the external memory interface in one second. The number is worked out by multiplying the card's interface width by its memory speed. In the case of DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be processed in one second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the video card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels the video card can possibly write to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the number of ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the maximum fill rate.
