GeForce RTX 3060 vs Radeon RX 6750 XT

Intro

The GeForce RTX 3060 has a GPU core clock speed of 1320 MHz, and the (Unknown) MB of GDDR6 memory is set to run at 1875 MHz through a 192-bit bus. It also features 3584 SPUs, 112 TAUs, and 48 ROPs.

Compare that to the Radeon RX 6750 XT, which uses a 7 nm design. AMD has clocked the core frequency at 2150 MHz. The GDDR6 RAM runs at a speed of 2250 MHz on this specific card. It features 2560 SPUs as well as 160 Texture Address Units and 64 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

GeForce RTX 3060 170 Watts
Radeon RX 6750 XT 250 Watts
Difference: 80 Watts (47%)

Memory Bandwidth

In theory, the Radeon RX 6750 XT should be just a bit faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 overall. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 442368 MB/sec
GeForce RTX 3060 368640 MB/sec
Difference: 73728 (20%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6750 XT will be a lot (about 133%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the GeForce RTX 3060. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 344000 Mtexels/sec
GeForce RTX 3060 147840 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 196160 (133%)

Pixel Rate

If running with a high screen resolution is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6750 XT is the winner, and very much so. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 137600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce RTX 3060 63360 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 74240 (117%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of data (measured in megabytes per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the bus width by its memory clock speed. If the card has DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied per second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel output rate also depends on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the max fill rate.
