GeForce RTX 4080 320 Watts
Radeon RX 6950 XT 335 Watts
Difference: 15 Watts (5%)

Memory Bandwidth

The GeForce RTX 4080 should in theory be much faster than the Radeon RX 6950 XT overall. (explain)

GeForce RTX 4080 734003 MB/sec
Radeon RX 6950 XT 589824 MB/sec
Difference: 144179 (24%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce RTX 4080 will be just a bit (more or less 9%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the Radeon RX 6950 XT. (explain)

GeForce RTX 4080 670320 Mtexels/sec
Radeon RX 6950 XT 616000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 54320 (9%)

Pixel Rate

The GeForce RTX 4080 is a little bit (more or less 0%) faster with regards to full screen anti-aliasing than the Radeon RX 6950 XT, and also should be able to handle higher screen resolutions more effectively. (explain)

GeForce RTX 4080 246960 Mpixels/sec
Radeon RX 6950 XT 246400 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 560 (0%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of information (counted in MB per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface in one second. It's worked out by multiplying the card's interface width by the speed of its memory. If it uses DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be processed per second. This is calculated by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics chip could possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the number of Raster Operations Pipelines by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the max fill rate.
