Radeon RX 6750 XT vs Radeon RX 6800 XT

Intro

The Radeon RX 6750 XT uses a 7 nm design. AMD has clocked the core frequency at 2150 MHz. The GDDR6 memory works at a frequency of 2250 MHz on this model. It features 2560 SPUs along with 160 Texture Address Units and 64 ROPs.

Compare all of that to the Radeon RX 6800 XT, which has a clock speed of 1825 MHz and a GDDR6 memory frequency of 2000 MHz. It also features a 256-bit memory bus, and uses a 7 nm design. It is made up of 4608 SPUs, 288 TAUs, and 128 Raster Operation Units.

Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 250 Watts
Radeon RX 6800 XT 300 Watts
Difference: 50 Watts (20%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically speaking, the Radeon RX 6800 XT should perform a little bit faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT in general. (explain)

Radeon RX 6800 XT 524288 MB/sec
Radeon RX 6750 XT 442368 MB/sec
Difference: 81920 (19%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6800 XT is a lot (approximately 53%) better at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon RX 6750 XT. (explain)

Radeon RX 6800 XT 525600 Mtexels/sec
Radeon RX 6750 XT 344000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 181600 (53%)

Pixel Rate

If running with high levels of AA is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6800 XT is the winner, and very much so. (explain)

Radeon RX 6800 XT 233600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon RX 6750 XT 137600 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 96000 (70%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (counted in megabytes per second) that can be moved across the external memory interface in one second. It's calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory clock speed. If it uses DDR type memory, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are processed in one second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels the video card could possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the maximum fill rate.
