Radeon RX 6750 XT vs Radeon RX 6900 XT

Intro

The Radeon RX 6750 XT comes with a GPU core clock speed of 2150 MHz, and the 12288 MB of GDDR6 RAM runs at 2250 MHz through a 192-bit bus. It also features 2560 Stream Processors, 160 TAUs, and 64 ROPs.

Compare those specs to the Radeon RX 6900 XT, which has a core clock speed of 1825 MHz and a GDDR6 memory frequency of 2000 MHz. It also uses a 256-bit memory bus, and makes use of a 7 nm design. It is made up of 5120 SPUs, 320 TAUs, and 128 ROPs.

Radeon RX 6750 XT 442368 MB/sec
Difference: 81920 (19%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6900 XT should be a lot (more or less 70%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon RX 6750 XT. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 584000 Mtexels/sec
Radeon RX 6750 XT 344000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 240000 (70%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 6900 XT is a lot (more or less 70%) more effective at FSAA than the Radeon RX 6750 XT, and also able to handle higher resolutions better. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 233600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon RX 6750 XT 137600 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 96000 (70%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of information (in units of MB per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in one second. The number is calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by the speed of its memory. In the case of DDR type RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the amount of ROPs by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the maximum fill rate.
