Radeon RX 7900 XT 300 Watts
Difference: 230 Watts (329%)

Memory Bandwidth

In theory, the Radeon RX 7900 XT should be much faster than the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 1GB overall. (explain)

Radeon RX 7900 XT 819200 MB/sec
GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 1GB 54400 MB/sec
Difference: 764800 (1406%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 7900 XT should be quite a bit (approximately 2764%) better at texture filtering than the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 1GB. (explain)

Radeon RX 7900 XT 504000 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 1GB 17600 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 486400 (2764%)

Pixel Rate

If using a high screen resolution is important to you, then the Radeon RX 7900 XT is a better choice, by a large margin. (explain)

Radeon RX 7900 XT 288000 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 1GB 4400 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 283600 (6445%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the largest amount of data (measured in MB per second) that can be transferred across the external memory interface within a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are processed in one second. This is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics chip could possibly record to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the maximum fill rate.
