Radeon HD 6750 1GB vs Radeon RX 6500 XT

Intro

The Radeon HD 6750 1GB comes with a clock frequency of 725 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 1000 MHz. It also makes use of a 128-bit memory bus, and makes use of a 40 nm design. It is comprised of 720 SPUs, 36 TAUs, and 16 ROPs.

Compare all of that to the Radeon RX 6500 XT, which has core clock speeds of 2200 MHz on the GPU, and 2250 MHz on the 4096 MB of GDDR6 RAM. It features 1024 SPUs along with 64 TAUs and 32 Rasterization Operator Units.

Radeon HD 6750 1GB 64000 MB/sec
Difference: 83456 (130%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6500 XT is a lot (approximately 439%) better at texture filtering than the Radeon HD 6750 1GB. (explain)

Radeon RX 6500 XT 140800 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 1GB 26100 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 114700 (439%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 6500 XT is a lot (approximately 507%) faster with regards to full screen anti-aliasing than the Radeon HD 6750 1GB, and also will be capable of handling higher resolutions without slowing down too much. (explain)

Radeon RX 6500 XT 70400 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 1GB 11600 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 58800 (507%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (counted in MB per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface within a second. It is calculated by multiplying the bus width by its memory clock speed. In the case of DDR RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics chip could possibly record to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the amount of Render Output Units by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel rate also depends on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the max fill rate.
