GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 622899 MB/sec
Radeon HD 3850 256MB 52992 MB/sec
Difference: 569907 (1075%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will be a lot (approximately 2729%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon HD 3850 256MB. (explain)

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 302400 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 3850 256MB 10688 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 291712 (2729%)

Pixel Rate

If running with a high screen resolution is important to you, then the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is a better choice, by far. (explain)

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 151200 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 3850 256MB 10688 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 140512 (1315%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of data (measured in MB per second) that can be moved over the external memory interface in a second. It's worked out by multiplying the card's bus width by the speed of its memory. In the case of DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to its local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the amount of ROPs by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate also depends on quite a few other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the maximum fill rate.
