Radeon HD 4350 vs Radeon RX 6900 XT

Intro

The Radeon HD 4350 uses a 55 nm design. AMD has set the core frequency at 575 MHz. The DDR2 memory is set to run at a frequency of 500 MHz on this model. It features 80(16x5) SPUs along with 8 TAUs and 4 Rasterization Operator Units.

Compare those specifications to the Radeon RX 6900 XT, which comes with a GPU core clock speed of 1825 MHz, and 16384 MB of GDDR6 RAM set to run at 2000 MHz through a 256-bit bus. It also is comprised of 5120 Stream Processors, 320 TAUs, and 128 Raster Operation Units.

Performance-wise, the Radeon RX 6900 XT should in theory be much superior to the Radeon HD 4350 in general. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 524288 MB/sec
Radeon HD 4350 8000 MB/sec
Difference: 516288 (6454%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6900 XT should be a lot (more or less 12596%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the Radeon HD 4350. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 584000 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 4350 4600 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 579400 (12596%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 6900 XT is quite a bit (more or less 10057%) faster with regards to FSAA than the Radeon HD 4350, and also will be capable of handling higher screen resolutions more effectively. (explain)

Radeon RX 6900 XT 233600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 4350 2300 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 231300 (10057%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the largest amount of data (in units of MB per second) that can be moved over the external memory interface within a second. It is calculated by multiplying the card's interface width by its memory clock speed. If the card has DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied per second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the video card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels that the graphics chip could possibly write to its local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the maximum fill rate.
