Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB vs Radeon RX 5600 XT

Intro

The Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB uses a 40 nm design. AMD has set the core frequency at 750 MHz. The GDDR5 RAM works at a frequency of 900 MHz on this particular model. It features 160 SPUs as well as 8 Texture Address Units and 4 ROPs.

Compare those specs to the Radeon RX 5600 XT, which features a GPU core clock speed of 1375 MHz, and 6144 MB of GDDR6 memory set to run at 1500 MHz through a 192-bit bus. It also is comprised of 2304 SPUs, 144 TAUs, and 64 Raster Operation Units.

Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB 31 Watts
Radeon RX 5600 XT 160 Watts
Difference: 129 Watts (416%)

Memory Bandwidth

Performance-wise, the Radeon RX 5600 XT should in theory be much superior to the Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB overall. (explain)

Radeon RX 5600 XT 344064 MB/sec
Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB 28800 MB/sec
Difference: 315264 (1095%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 5600 XT will be a lot (approximately 3200%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB. (explain)

Radeon RX 5600 XT 198000 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB 6000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 192000 (3200%)

Pixel Rate

If running with a high screen resolution is important to you, then the Radeon RX 5600 XT is the winner, by far. (explain)

Radeon RX 5600 XT 88000 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB 3000 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 85000 (2833%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transported across the external memory interface in one second. The number is calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory clock speed. In the case of DDR RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the graphics card can possibly write to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the amount of Render Output Units by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate also depends on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the maximum fill rate.
