Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

Radeon RX 550 50 Watts
Radeon HD 5750 1GB 86 Watts
Difference: 36 Watts (72%)

Memory Bandwidth

Performance-wise, the Radeon RX 550 should in theory be a lot better than the Radeon HD 5750 1GB in general. (explain)

Radeon RX 550 114688 MB/sec
Radeon HD 5750 1GB 73600 MB/sec
Difference: 41088 (56%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 550 should be much (about 40%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the Radeon HD 5750 1GB. (explain)

Radeon RX 550 35200 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 5750 1GB 25200 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 10000 (40%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 550 should be quite a bit (more or less 57%) faster with regards to anti-aliasing than the Radeon HD 5750 1GB, and also should be able to handle higher screen resolutions without losing too much performance. (explain)

Radeon RX 550 17600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 5750 1GB 11200 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 6400 (57%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of information (measured in MB per second) that can be transferred over the external memory interface in one second. It is worked out by multiplying the card's interface width by its memory clock speed. If the card has DDR RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the video card could possibly write to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the max fill rate.
