Radeon HD 7970 264000 MB/sec
Radeon HD 6750 64000 MB/sec
Difference: 200000 (313%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon HD 7970 will be much (about 354%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the Radeon HD 6750. (explain)

Radeon HD 7970 118400 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 26100 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 92300 (354%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon HD 7970 is a lot (more or less 155%) more effective at AA than the Radeon HD 6750, and will be able to handle higher screen resolutions while still performing well. (explain)

Radeon HD 7970 29600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6750 11600 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 18000 (155%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the largest amount of data (measured in megabytes per second) that can be transported across the external memory interface in one second. It's calculated by multiplying the card's interface width by its memory speed. In the case of DDR type memory, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied in one second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the graphics card can possibly write to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the max fill rate.
