GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 vs Radeon RX 6600 XT

Intro

The GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 comes with clock speeds of 732 MHz on the GPU, and 900 MHz on the 1280 MB of GDDR5 memory. It features 448 SPUs as well as 56 TAUs and 40 ROPs.

Compare all that to the Radeon RX 6600 XT, which comes with core speeds of 1968 MHz on the GPU, and 2000 MHz on the 8192 MB of GDDR6 RAM. It features 2048 SPUs as well as 128 TAUs and 64 Rasterization Operator Units.

Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 160 Watts
GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 210 Watts
Difference: 50 Watts (31%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically, the Radeon RX 6600 XT should perform quite a bit faster than the GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 in general. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 262144 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 144000 MB/sec
Difference: 118144 (82%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is much (about 515%) better at AF than the GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 251904 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 40992 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 210912 (515%)

Pixel Rate

If running with a high resolution is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6600 XT is a better choice, and very much so. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 125952 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 29280 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 96672 (330%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of data (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transported over the external memory interface in a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the interface width by the speed of its memory. If the card has DDR type RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are applied per second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels the graphics card can possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the number of Raster Operations Pipelines by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate also depends on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the max fill rate.
