Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 200 Watts
GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 290 Watts
Difference: 90 Watts (45%)

Memory Bandwidth

In theory, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti should perform just a bit faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti in general. (explain)

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 622899 MB/sec
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (Unknown) MB/sec
Difference: 622899 (-100%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will be a lot (about 41%) better at AF than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. (explain)

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 302400 Mtexels/sec
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 214320 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 88080 (41%)

Pixel Rate

If using a high resolution is important to you, then the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is the winner, by far. (explain)

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 151200 Mpixels/sec
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 112800 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 38400 (34%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of data (in units of MB per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the video card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics chip can possibly record to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.
