Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Memory Bandwidth

The Geforce GTX 770 should theoretically be much faster than the Radeon R9 M265X in general. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 224384 MB/sec
Radeon R9 M265X 72000 MB/sec
Difference: 152384 (212%)

Texel Rate

The Geforce GTX 770 should be a lot (about 482%) more effective at AF than the Radeon R9 M265X. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 133888 Mtexels/sec
Radeon R9 M265X 23000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 110888 (482%)

Pixel Rate

If running with a high resolution is important to you, then the Geforce GTX 770 is superior to the Radeon R9 M265X, by a large margin. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 33472 Mpixels/sec
Radeon R9 M265X 9200 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 24272 (264%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of information (in units of megabytes per second) that can be transported past the external memory interface in one second. It is calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR type RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels the graphics card can possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is calculated by multiplying the amount of Render Output Units by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel rate also depends on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the max fill rate.
