Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically speaking, the Geforce GTX 770 should be a lot faster than the Radeon R5 M255 in general. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 224384 MB/sec
Radeon R5 M255 16000 MB/sec
Difference: 208384 (1302%)

Texel Rate

The Geforce GTX 770 should be quite a bit (about 612%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the Radeon R5 M255. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 133888 Mtexels/sec
Radeon R5 M255 18800 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 115088 (612%)

Pixel Rate

The Geforce GTX 770 will be a lot (approximately 345%) faster with regards to AA than the Radeon R5 M255, and will be able to handle higher screen resolutions more effectively. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 33472 Mpixels/sec
Radeon R5 M255 7520 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 25952 (345%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (in units of MB per second) that can be transported over the external memory interface in one second. It's calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory clock speed. In the case of DDR RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be processed per second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the graphics card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the video card could possibly record to its local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate also depends on many other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the maximum fill rate.
