Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 vs Radeon HD 6670 (OEM)
IntroThe GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 has a core clock speed of 550 MHz and a GDDR5 memory frequency of 850 MHz. It also uses a 128-bit memory bus, and makes use of a 40 nm design. It is made up of 96 SPUs, 32 TAUs, and 8 ROPs.Compare those specs to the Radeon HD 6670 (OEM), which comes with a GPU core clock speed of 800 MHz, and 512 MB of GDDR5 memory set to run at 1000 MHz through a 128-bit bus. It also is comprised of 480 SPUs, 24 Texture Address Units, and 8 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthThe Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) should in theory perform a bit faster than the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 overall. (explain)
Texel RateThe Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) is a bit (approximately 9%) more effective at texture filtering than the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5. (explain)
Pixel RateThe Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) should be quite a bit (about 45%) more effective at anti-aliasing than the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5, and should be capable of handling higher resolutions while still performing well. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of information (in units of MB per second) that can be transported past the external memory interface in a second. It's worked out by multiplying the card's interface width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in a second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the graphics card could possibly write to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is calculated by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the maximum fill rate.
