The XM1r compared to the V2 just feels more refined overall. The clicks are cleaner and moving away from Omrons switches to Kailh 8.0s should mean that the double-click issue should be much less of a problem. The side buttons feel tighter with less post-travel than before, adding to a more tactile feel. And the scroll wheel has a bit more resistance to it out of the box, and just feels sturdier (Which can be a good or bad thing depending on the person, I personally like it). The scroll wheel button itself feels about the same which is fine, I only use it for pinging in games so it's not an issue. The stock feet glide really well too with a little break-in time (Plus you get a second pair of feet). The things I loved about the XM1 originally stayed the same thankfully. That includes the incredible grippy coating, the shape, the 70g weight, and finally the low-profile aesthetic.
It's really nice that Endgame kept the MSRP of the mouse the same at $59.99 USD before taxes, which is a really good deal for such a well constructed mouse. If you can pick up a V2 somewhere at a discount go for it since it's still really good (I'm assuming retailers are now trying to get rid of their V2 inventory), but the XM1r with all the upgrades is worth it. I'm glad I have two of these should something happen to one of them, since it's been my favorite gaming mouse experience so far. Looking forward to a wireless model (Hopefully with USB-C).
Things to keep in mind: As of the time I've posted this review there is no configuration software available yet, so you're stuck with the default DPI settings of 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 respectively for now (Changing it via the button underneath the Mouse). And also the supply isn't the best, this mouse is typically hard to find in stock so I'd check here and elsewhere periodically if you're trying to get a hold of one of these. However it's understandable when you think about it since Endgame gear is a relatively small peripheral company compared to Logitech or Razer.

The clicks are the best on any mouse I have tried. Very well tensioned, not too heavy, not too light. Very little pre and post-travel. The switches give a snappy and responsive feedback.
The build quality is fantastic, easily the best of any mouse I own. I've used this mouse heavily for around 4 months, and the only thing that has deteriorated is that there is now a faint rattle on the left click which is only barely noticeable when you violently shake it, which no sane person should do. Given that I play a lot of Minecraft, which is famous for mouse abuse, this is incredibly impressive.
Feet are incredibly smooth, though on the slightly slower side.
The cable is the best stock cable I've tried. Not as flexible as an aftermarket paracord, but the mouse feels wireless in a bungee.
I would 100% recommend this mouse if you have medium to large hands, claw grip, and don't mind a wire.
There's something about this one that even though it's symmetrical, it still has a comfortable curve to it that lets you rest your ring and pinky finger. It also manages to be smaller and lighter than my Intellimouse while still feeling like it has weight (and without using annoying honeycomb holes to make it lighter). The biggest thing to get used to out of the box was the lighter actuation force required to activate the right click. My hand twitches from time-to-time, so I had a bit of a problem with accidentally right clicking when I didn't mean to. I was able to learn around this though and I now rest my hand a bit differently to compensate in a way that feels still absolutely natural.
Another thing I very much appreciate is the driver-less configuration. Of course, you can still download a program from EndGame Gear's website (and Discord) to adjust DPI presets and install firmware updates, but it's not absolutely necessary. If you are comfortable with 400, 800, 1600 or 3200 dpi, you will be absolutely fine never downloading a single thing. One thing I do wish about the software though is that the mouse could save your custom presets internally, so if you unplugged it and plugged it into something else you could maintain the custom DPI you set. I understand why it doesn't work that way, but it would be a nice thing to see with future updates or revisions to the lineup.
People may criticize the lack of RGB and other flashy features, but I think the design is nice and understated. I appreciate a product that can still look and feel great without having all of the bells and whistles slapped onto it just to appease the general crowd. I did want to get the see-thru model when I was purchasing mine, but it was in stock for $10 more so I settled on the normal black instead. It's still super nice and feels great either way, so I am fine with my choice.
Absolutely recommended to lovers of symmetrical mice and even to Intellimouse/ergo die-hards! You might be just like me and find something that absolutely subverts your expectations in a really pleasant way.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Features:
Right mouse button
Left mouse button
DPI Switch on the bottom
2 Side buttons on the left
Paracord-like cable
Clickable scroll wheel
Cons:
No configuration software
If you want a mouse for anything, especially FPS games this is truly an endgame.
I have zero complaints other than the firmware you will need to download from their discord server( not their website for some reason ) which will fix any issues like scroll wheel skipping or mouse sensor skipping.
