Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce 9800 GT 512MB vs Radeon HD 5670
IntroThe GeForce 9800 GT 512MB has a core clock speed of 600 MHz and a GDDR3 memory frequency of 900 MHz. It also uses a 256-bit memory bus, and makes use of a 65/55 nm design. It features 112 SPUs, 56 Texture Address Units, and 16 Raster Operation Units.Compare all of that to the Radeon HD 5670, which comes with a GPU core clock speed of 775 MHz, and 1024 MB of GDDR5 memory set to run at 1000 MHz through a 128-bit bus. It also is made up of 400(80x5) SPUs, 20 TAUs, and 8 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthTheoretically, the Radeon HD 5670 should be a small bit faster than the GeForce 9800 GT 512MB in general. (explain)
Texel RateThe GeForce 9800 GT 512MB is a lot (about 117%) more effective at texture filtering than the Radeon HD 5670. (explain)
Pixel RateIf using a high resolution is important to you, then the GeForce 9800 GT 512MB is superior to the Radeon HD 5670, by far. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Display Specifications
Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of information (in units of megabytes per second) that can be transported past the external memory interface in a second. It is calculated by multiplying the card's interface width by its memory clock speed. If the card has DDR type RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This is worked out by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly record to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the number of colour ROPs by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel fill rate also depends on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the max fill rate.

looks like hd5670 would be fast, just wait a few weeks when its driver is already matured so we can play modern games at good settings 🙂
