Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GTX 550 Ti vs Radeon HD 6770 1GB
IntroThe GeForce GTX 550 Ti features a GPU core clock speed of 900 MHz, and the 1024 MB of GDDR5 memory is set to run at 1026 MHz through a 192-bit bus. It also is comprised of 192 SPUs, 32 TAUs, and 24 ROPs.Compare that to the Radeon HD 6770 1GB, which has a clock frequency of 900 MHz and a GDDR5 memory frequency of 1050 MHz. It also features a 128-bit memory bus, and makes use of a 40 nm design. It is made up of 800 SPUs, 40 TAUs, and 16 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthTheoretically speaking, the GeForce GTX 550 Ti should be 47% faster than the Radeon HD 6770 1GB in general, because of its greater bandwidth. (explain)
Texel RateThe Radeon HD 6770 1GB should be quite a bit (about 25%) more effective at AF than the GeForce GTX 550 Ti. (explain)
Pixel RateThe GeForce GTX 550 Ti should be much (approximately 50%) more effective at FSAA than the Radeon HD 6770 1GB, and will be able to handle higher screen resolutions while still performing well. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Display Specifications
Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (measured in megabytes per second) that can be transferred over the external memory interface in a second. It is worked out by multiplying the bus width by the speed of its memory. If it uses DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be processed in one second. This number is worked out by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in one second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the graphics card can possibly record to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the amount of Render Output Units by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the max fill rate.

550..def..:)

The 550 generally outperforms This ATI card but it is a bit more expensive. The 550 is somewhere in between the 6770 and the 6850.. If you have a little extra cash to fork out. I would suggest getting a ATI HD 6850 Radeon. But as of this comparison with the 6770. Gtx 550 Ti is most definitely the winner.
People looking for a Graphics card. Should already have gotten a decent power supply(PSU) first. Power consumption should not be an issue.
hey admin I think that your specs on the 6770 are differing from the 6770s we know today, and changing them would ensure a fair comparison 🙂 btw good job on the website

the benchmark that you are showing is wrong, the 560 is at 33fps not the 550, the 550 is at 22, the 6770 is at 19 from toms hardware(these are from the specific cards i was looking at) http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2011-gaming-graphics-charts/compare,2661.html?prod%5B4973%5D=on&prod%5B5248%5D=on
Indeed you are correct. No idea how that happened, seems all the numbers in that entire benchmark got screwed up. I've deleted the whole benchmark and will redo later.
