Radeon HD 5870 153600 MB/sec
Radeon HD 6770 1GB 67200 MB/sec
Difference: 86400 (129%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon HD 5870 should be quite a bit (more or less 89%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the Radeon HD 6770 1GB. (explain)

Radeon HD 5870 68000 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6770 1GB 36000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 32000 (89%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon HD 5870 is much (approximately 89%) more effective at FSAA than the Radeon HD 6770 1GB, and also capable of handling higher screen resolutions more effectively. (explain)

Radeon HD 5870 27200 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6770 1GB 14400 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 12800 (89%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (counted in MB per second) that can be transported past the external memory interface in a second. It is worked out by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that can be processed in one second. This is calculated by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the graphics card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the video card can possibly write to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the maximum fill rate.
