GeForce 8600 GT 512MB DDR2 47 Watts
Radeon RX 6600 XT 160 Watts
Difference: 113 Watts (240%)

Memory Bandwidth

Performance-wise, the Radeon RX 6600 XT should in theory be quite a bit better than the GeForce 8600 GT 512MB DDR2 in general. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 262144 MB/sec
GeForce 8600 GT 512MB DDR2 12800 MB/sec
Difference: 249344 (1948%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is quite a bit (approximately 2816%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the GeForce 8600 GT 512MB DDR2. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 251904 Mtexels/sec
GeForce 8600 GT 512MB DDR2 8640 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 243264 (2816%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon RX 6600 XT will be quite a bit (approximately 2816%) more effective at full screen anti-aliasing than the GeForce 8600 GT 512MB DDR2, and also will be able to handle higher resolutions without losing too much performance. (explain)

Radeon RX 6600 XT 125952 Mpixels/sec
GeForce 8600 GT 512MB DDR2 4320 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 121632 (2816%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of information (counted in megabytes per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface in one second. It is calculated by multiplying the card's interface width by the speed of its memory. If it uses DDR type RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the card's memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that can be processed per second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the video card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels that the graphics chip can possibly write to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the maximum fill rate.
