GeForce GTX 1650 vs Radeon HD 4670 512MB

Intro

The GeForce GTX 1650 has a GPU clock speed of 1485 MHz, and the 4096 MB of GDDR5 memory is set to run at 2001 MHz through a 128-bit bus. It also is comprised of 896 Stream Processors, 56 Texture Address Units, and 32 Raster Operation Units.

Compare those specs to the Radeon HD 4670 512MB, which makes use of a 55 nm design. AMD has set the core frequency at 750 MHz. The GDDR4/GDDR3/DDR3/DDR2 RAM runs at a speed of 1000 MHz on this specific model. It features 320(64x5) SPUs along with 32 Texture Address Units and 8 Rasterization Operator Units.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of data (measured in MB per second) that can be transferred past the external memory interface in a second. It is calculated by multiplying the interface width by the speed of its memory. If the card has DDR type memory, it must be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the bandwidth is, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be processed in one second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to the local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the amount of ROPs by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate also depends on quite a few other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the maximum fill rate.
