GeForce GTX 750 Ti vs GeForce RTX 2060

Intro

The GeForce GTX 750 Ti has a clock frequency of 1020 MHz and a GDDR5 memory frequency of 1350 MHz. It also makes use of a 128-bit bus, and uses a 28 nm design. It is made up of 640 SPUs, 40 TAUs, and 16 ROPs.

Compare those specs to the GeForce RTX 2060, which has GPU core speed of 1365 MHz, and 6144 MB of GDDR6 memory running at 1750 MHz through a 192-bit bus. It also features 1920 SPUs, 120 TAUs, and 48 Raster Operation Units.

Difference: 100 Watts (167%)

Memory Bandwidth

The GeForce RTX 2060 should theoretically be a lot faster than the GeForce GTX 750 Ti overall. (explain)

GeForce RTX 2060 344064 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 750 Ti 86400 MB/sec
Difference: 257664 (298%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce RTX 2060 will be a lot (about 301%) better at AF than the GeForce GTX 750 Ti. (explain)

GeForce RTX 2060 163800 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 750 Ti 40800 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 123000 (301%)

Pixel Rate

The GeForce RTX 2060 will be a lot (more or less 301%) more effective at full screen anti-aliasing than the GeForce GTX 750 Ti, and also able to handle higher resolutions without slowing down too much. (explain)

GeForce RTX 2060 65520 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GTX 750 Ti 16320 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 49200 (301%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (measured in megabytes per second) that can be transferred across the external memory interface in a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by the speed of its memory. In the case of DDR type RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are processed in one second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels applied in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the graphics card could possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the number of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the max fill rate.
