The Radeon R9 380X should in theory perform much faster than the Radeon R7 250X 2GB in general. (explain)

Radeon R9 380X 182400 MB/sec
Radeon R7 250X 2GB 72000 MB/sec
Difference: 110400 (153%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon R9 380X will be quite a bit (about 210%) better at AF than the Radeon R7 250X 2GB. (explain)

Radeon R9 380X 124160 Mtexels/sec
Radeon R7 250X 2GB 40000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 84160 (210%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon R9 380X will be quite a bit (about 94%) more effective at FSAA than the Radeon R7 250X 2GB, and will be capable of handling higher resolutions without slowing down too much. (explain)

Radeon R9 380X 31040 Mpixels/sec
Radeon R7 250X 2GB 16000 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 15040 (94%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of information (measured in MB per second) that can be transported over the external memory interface in one second. The number is calculated by multiplying the bus width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR type memory, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that can be processed in one second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the video card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels the graphics card can possibly record to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel fill rate also depends on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the maximum fill rate.
